FinderSeek ("we", "our", "us") operates the FinderSeek quest platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using FinderSeek, you agree to the practices described here.

Account information — When you sign up, we collect your email address, username, and city. You may optionally add a phone number and payment information.

Location data — When you create a quest, we collect the approximate geographic coordinates of the hiding spot. When you search for quests, we may use your city or general location to show nearby quests. We do not continuously track your location in the background.

Payment information — Prize payouts are sent via PayPal or Venmo. Gold membership billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your card number, CVV, or full billing details on our servers. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.

Usage data — We collect information about how you use the app, including quests created, quests joined, clues viewed, and prize claims. This helps us improve the platform.

Device information — We may collect basic device information such as browser type, operating system, and IP address for security and analytics purposes.

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate and provide the FinderSeek service
• Process Gold membership payments via Stripe
• Send prize payouts via PayPal or Venmo
• Send transactional emails (quest notifications, prize alerts, subscription updates)
• Show you quests near your city
• Prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service
• Improve and develop new features

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising targeting.

We send emails for the following purposes:

• Account verification and password resets
• Quest activity notifications (new quests in your city, prize claimed, quest went live)
• Gold membership receipts, trial reminders, and billing updates via Stripe
• Important service announcements

You can manage your notification preferences at any time from your Profile → Notifications settings. Transactional emails related to payments and account security cannot be opted out of.

We share your information only with the following third-party services necessary to operate FinderSeek:

Supabase — Our database and authentication provider. Stores your account data, quest data, and clues.

Stripe — Payment processing, subscription management, and prize payouts. Governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Resend — Transactional email delivery. Receives your email address and notification content.

Anthropic (Claude API) — Used to generate AI quest clues. Your hiding spot description is sent to the Claude API to generate clues. This data is not stored by Anthropic for training purposes under our API agreement.

We do not share your data with any other third parties.

Location data is stored securely in our database and is only used to calculate search radiuses and display approximate maps. We do not share precise coordinates with seekers or any third parties.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (e.g., transaction records required by law).

Quest data, including clues and hiding spot descriptions, is retained for the duration of the quest and up to 90 days afterward for dispute resolution purposes.

You have the right to:

• Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — Update your username, city, and email from Profile → Settings
• Deletion — Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Portability — Request your data in a machine-readable format
• Opt-out — Manage notification preferences from your profile

FinderSeek is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure database storage via Supabase, and Stripe's PCI-compliant payment processing. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice in the app. Continued use of FinderSeek after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
